Miss Parsimonious Gets Married

He Proposed

Dave proposed to me on June 6, 2010 at Goodale Park. The day started like any other: We went to the Short North Yard Sale, went home and cleaned the house, vegged on the couch and watched a movie. Dave mentioned that he wanted to have date night tonight and made reservations at Alana's - a restaurant neither one of us had been to. We had a fantastic dinner. After dinner, he was playing with the wine cork and I said we should keep it to remember the night. He gave me a pen and I wrote our initials, the date, and the restaurant. I suggested going to gallery hop in the Short North and he agreed but thought we should take a walk through the park first. So we walked around the park and, finally, sat on a bench near the water. It felt so normal - so "us" - that I expected nothing. So much so, that when he said " I have a question for you" I replied, " How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop?" "No" he said. And got down on one knee. "Will you marry me?" I said yes. :)
